Ntinna a Mari 2024

2º Photo Contest

The “‘Ntinna a Mari ri Cefalù” is an ancient Sicilian celebration with roots tracing back to the reign of Roger II of Sicily in the 12th century AD.

During this event, participants—descendants of the region’s most traditional fishing families—compete to capture the flag of the Most Holy Christ Pantocrator by running across a heavily greased beam suspended over the sea.

I was honoured with a Special Mention from the Jury for my photograph, “À picciridda, à fudda, a ‘Ntinna,” (The little girl, the crowd, the Antenna) at the 2nd Photo Contest “‘Ntinna a Mari ri Cefalù 2024” in Italy, on 26 January 2025.
