Be indomable
Indomable is a sport centre focused on athletic coaching in Santiago, Chile. We were engaged for an integrated brand and marketing development which included naming, visual identity, website, marketing collaterals and interior design for this CrossFit box.
The Name: Indomitable Spirit
Choosing the right name is crucial for any fitness brand. Branding isn’t just a logo or color scheme, it’s the heart of your gym’s identity. We chose the word Indomable (Spanish for indomitable) to represent the feeling of overcoming incredible physical challenges and becoming a more self-reliant human being.
The name needed to resonate with the target audience in Santiago while communicating strength, resilience, and transformation. Indomable captured exactly what the gym’s mission was about: building people who cannot be conquered, subdued, or defeated by physical or mental barriers.
From Sketch to Symbol
During a co-design meeting, I took my sketch book and drew a rampant lion and everything went fast from there. It was the first time a client said, “Please, do everything as you think so. We will follow”. That level of trust allowed us to create something authentic and powerful.
The rampant lion became the perfect visual representation of the Indomable spirit. Raw, minimalist gym branding with a focus on strength, endurance, and community has proven successful for CrossFit brands worldwide. Our lion embodied these qualities while adding a distinctive Chilean character to the brand.
Integrated Brand Development
The project encompassed every touchpoint of the brand experience. Beyond the logo, we developed a comprehensive visual identity system that worked across digital and physical environments. The website served as the central hub for member acquisition, featuring bold imagery, clear calls to action, and an easy registration process.
Interior design played a critical role in bringing the brand to life. We created a space that felt raw and authentic, with industrial elements that reinforced the intensity of the workouts while maintaining an welcoming atmosphere. Every detail, from wall graphics to equipment placement, reflected the Indomable brand identity.
This integrated approach to branding ensures consistency across all member touchpoints, from their first social media interaction to their daily workout experience.
Aggressive Social Media Campaign
We enacted a very aggressive communication campaign in social media, reaching the milestone of 500 new members in less than one month, when the business plan was expecting to achieve that goal in three. Word of mouth remains one of the most effective marketing strategies, especially in community-driven environments like CrossFit.
Our strategy focused on authentic storytelling, member transformation stories, and creating a sense of community before people even walked through the doors. We showcased real workouts, celebrated member achievements, and consistently communicated the Indomable values across Instagram, Facebook, and WhatsApp groups.
The campaign’s success came from understanding that people don’t just join a gym, they join a tribe. By building that tribal identity online first, we created demand that exceeded all projections.
Lessons from Santiago
This project demonstrated the power of integrated branding when done with complete creative freedom and client trust. From naming to interior design, every element worked together to tell a cohesive story about what Indomable stood for: unstoppable human potential.
The 500 members in 30 days weren’t just attracted by marketing tactics. They were drawn to a brand that stood for something meaningful, looked distinct in the market, and promised a transformative experience backed by every touchpoint of the business.
